Sandwich emergency - what to do when you've run out of bread

We’ve all been there. You go to make a sandwich, reach for the bread bag and it’s empty. Devastating!

But we have a solution for those sad breadless moments… make your own bread.

We know what you’re thinking, surely that means hours spent kneading, proving and baking.

Not if you make flatbreads!

Using just a few store cupboard ingredients you can quickly pull together a batch of delicious homemade flatbreads.

All you need is plain flour, baking powder, cold pressed rapeseed oil, salt and water.

By combining all the ingredients, rolling them out and cooking in a hot pan with cold pressed rapeseed oil you can have a batch of delicious homemade flatbreads whipped up in 20 minutes or less.

Cold pressed rapeseed oil is particularly good for making breads and flatbreads because it has such a mellow flavour so it doesn’t overpower the flavour of the other ingredients.
