Our journey to launch the UK’s first regenerative cold-pressed rapeseed oil in a paper bottle

Imagine drizzling golden rapeseed oil over your salad, knowing the bottle in your hand isn’t just adding flavour to your food — it’s helping the planet too. That’s exactly what we had in mind when we created littleseed’s regenerative cold-pressed rapeseed oil, now available in a bottle made predominantly from recycled paperboard.

It’s light enough to carry home easily, shatterproof for safe use in the kitchen, and simple to recycle after use. For us, it’s proof that sustainability doesn’t have to be complicated — it can be part of everyday life. This is a bottle that belongs in the kitchen of anyone who wants their cooking to taste good and do good.

Why We Wanted to Do Things Differently

At littleseed, we’ve always believed that what we grow and how we grow it matters. That’s why we’ve taken the leap to make our oil 100% regeneratively farmed.

As a team of farmers and food lovers, this felt like the natural next step for us. For several years now, we’ve been introducing regenerative farming techniques on our own farms — things like improving soil health, reducing synthetic fertilisers, and working more closely with nature.

“As farmers, we believe it’s our responsibility to change the way we farm now to guarantee the future of food and farming for generations to come.”

That belief inspired us to work with other like-minded British farmers who share the same values. Together, we’re producing rapeseed oil that’s better for the land and better for your table.

What Regenerative Farming Means to Us

You might have seen the term regeneratively farmed popping up more often, but what does it really mean? In simple terms, it’s farming that puts soil health at the heart of everything.

Healthy soil means stronger crops, more biodiversity, and less need for chemicals or aggressive cultivation. And while “regenerative” isn’t yet a certified label like “organic,” we wanted littleseed to be fully transparent about what it stands for.

That’s why we created our own regenerative farming standard — a clear set of principles that every partner farm follows. It ensures that when you pick up a bottle of littleseed oil, you know exactly what’s gone into it and how it’s been grown.

“Regenerative agriculture isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Every farm is unique, but by setting our own standard, we can give customers confidence in the way our oil is produced.”

Cooking That Does Good

For us, this launch is about more than just a new product. It’s about proving that small changes — like switching the oil you cook with — can make a big difference for the planet.

With our regenerative rapeseed oil in its eco-friendly paper bottle, every drizzle, roast, and dressing helps support better soil, British farming, and a healthier food future.

Because we truly believe that cooking shouldn’t cost the earth. 💛
