Setting the Scene

While breakfast in bed is nice, it’s not always the most practical option, so a seated brunch is preferable

Set your brunch table in advance with the napkins, cutlery and tableware. Consider adding a vase of fresh flowers as the centrepiece. Daffodils and tulips are everywhere at this time of year and you can pick up a bunch from the supermarket for a bargain price.

Little extras

Why not make a playlist of your mum’s favourite songs to have on in the background. It’s such a thoughtful but inexpensive touch.

Without a doubt, make sure your mum doesn’t lift a finger on Mother’s Day and that includes her having a day off from clearing the table and washing up!

Adding the Finishing Touches

As the brunch comes together, don't forget to add some special finishing touches to make mum feel truly pampered. Whether she is a coffee or tea person make sure you serve her favourite hot beverage. Also a consider having a jug of orange juice or Bucks fizz (Mimosa) on the table for some extra refreshment.

Finally, remember, the most important thing is not the food and drinks, but the thought that went into preparing it and the quality time you’ve spent together.
