How to package your cakes for gifting

There are so many different ways to pack your homemade cakes up so they look like they have been wrapped by a professional bakery.

  • Loaf cakes (as long as they aren’t iced) can be wrapped up in baking parchment and brown paper, finish it off by securing the paper with a ribbon or some colouful string.

  • Gift boxes which can be bought online, in stationary shops and even the pound shop are ideal for holding, cakes, biscuits and buns. You can keep your cake secure by adding some tissue paper to the bottom of the box to create a bit of extra padding around the sides of the cake.

  • Cookies can be packed in bags made from brown paper or baking parchment. The best thing about making your own bags for your baked goods is that you can tailor the size to fit as many biscuits as you want. As always add a bow or ribbon to finish the look.
